Keller's rough outing sends Pirates to another loss
Mitch Keller's struggles continued on Wednesday night as the Pirates fell to the Reds, 10-2. Keller allowed eight runs on nine hits in just 3 1/3 innings, walking three and striking out two.
Keller's struggles continue
Keller has now allowed at least four runs in each of his last four starts. He has a 6.69 ERA on the season and has allowed 33 runs in 43 innings pitched.
The Pirates have lost seven of Keller's last eight starts. They are now 14-22 overall this season and are in last place in the NL Central.
Pirates' offense struggles
The Pirates' offense was also held in check on Wednesday night. They managed just two runs on six hits against Reds starter Luis Castillo.
Castillo allowed just one earned run in six innings, walking three and striking out seven. The Reds' bullpen finished the game with three scoreless innings.
Next up for the Pirates
The Pirates will face the Reds again on Thursday night at PNC Park. JT Brubaker will start for the Pirates, while Tyler Mahle will start for the Reds.
